Austen’s major is Sport Administration at the University of Louisville. His best performance in his tennis career so far, was being a quarterfinalist in the Australian Open Junior Championships and the Asia/Oceania Championships during high school.
His dream is to become a professional tennis player. Marcel Vos, the NZ FEd Cup and Davis Cup captain has had the greatest impact on his tennis. Austen’s athletic goal at the University of Louisville is to win the Big East.
Returning to New Zealand for Christmas 2009, Austen entered and reached the final of the Pascoes Residential Championships, where he played an epic match against Marcus Daniell.

Head Coach Beyers at the St.Cuthberts College says about Abigail, that she has a huge serve and a big forehand. He expects her to have a great collegiate career.
Prior to College tennis, Abigail won three ITF Junior doubles titles in 2008. She represented New Zealand in the Junior Fed Cup Team and was captain of her school team, who won the National Secondary Schools tournament three times. On top of that, she was a New Zealand 12/u National Champion.
Her Major is still undecided. Her favourite athlete is Michael Phelps and when it comes to tennis, James Blake.

In 2006 Amelia played in the New Zealand Junior Fed Cup Team. Her New Zealand titles include both singles and doubles in 16/u. In 2008, she was the winner of the Wellington, Canterbury and Auckland Junior ITF girls doubles, a semi-finalist in singles. She is enjoying her Major in Sports Administration at University of Louisville.

Emma Hayman graduated from Wanganui Collegiate School, where she was head girl in 2006. In 2008 Emma received the UNM Scholar Athlete award due to her 45-29 record in the singles and 32-31 in the doubles while in 2009, she got the MWC Scholar Athlete Award as well as the MWC Academic All-Conference and ITA Scholar Athelete.
Emma’s Major is Business with a focus on Marketing.

James Meredith

James Meredith was Kiwi champion in the 12/U, 14/U, 16/U and as well in the 18/U age group. He was also a member of the New Zealand Junior Davis Cup team.
Now he’s a freshman at the Boise State University. There, he joined the Bronco’s tennis team in the spring semester 2009.
He plays number three in the singles, and most of the time number one in the doubles.
James’ Major is Kinesiology. His sports interests next to tennis are in basketball and rugby. His favourite tennis player is Marat Safin.

Pat Metham went to Wellington College before he got a scholarship to study in Amercia. In New Zealand, he won the New Zealand Junior Doubles Championships in 2005.
The last two seasons, 2007-2009, he played in the men’s tennis team for University of Arizona. IN the senior season, he primarily played at the position number 5 in the singles.
Furthermore, he reached as high as 18 in the ITA Doubles Rankings in this year.
Next to tennis, his favourite sport is baseball.

Ben Taylor’s hometown is Dunedin. While he went to the St. Patrick’s College in New Zealand, he’s now a student at the Florida Southern College with International Business as a Major.
In 2007/8 Ben was honoured as ITA Scholar-Athlete and FSC Scholar-Athlete Award for men’s tennis.
In 2008/9 he received the same awards again and on top of that he received the NCAA-2 Academic Achievement Award.
Besides, Ben is serving as one of the FSC’s representatives to the 2009/10 Sunshine State Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

Michael Venus

Born in Auckland, Michael Venus has lived a long time in America now. First he was a member of the University of Texas tennis team 2005/6. Then he sat out the 2006/7 season where he transferred to his current university, the Louisiana State University.
In his first year at the LSU, Michael finished the season ranked number 31 in singles and 14 in doubles. His biggest win in that season was the victory against Florida’s third seed. He was named Louisiana Player and Newcomer of the Year.
In his senior season, Michael was crowned SEC Player of the Year. On top of that, he captured the 2008 D’Novo All-American title and another Louisiana Player of the Year recognition.
Venus is the only of two Tigers at the LSU who earned a top ten finish in both singles as well as doubles.

Lisa has Sport Management as a Major, after she came over to the USA from St. Peters School in Cambridge.
Lisa reached number 6 in the national singles rankings for 18/U in New Zealand, and played as the number one for Wellington Senior Team.
