Briar Preston leads the three Kiwis who made it into the quarter-finals at the 2nd Group 4 Queensland ITF in the Sunshine Coast.
Yesterday top-seeded Preston dispatched Australian Hannah Receveur 6-2 6-2 to set up a match with the New Caledonian and 12th seed, Aaneve Pain.
Preston and her partner, Storm Sanders are also still alive in the doubles and will be looking for a repeat of last week where the won they doubles event at the North Brisbane ITF.
Third seed Emily Fanning won easily against Elizabeth James 6-2 6-3 and tommorrow (Thursday) will see her up against fifth seed Australian Molly Polak.
The final Kiwi through was eighth seed Heidi Stewart, who came through against ninth seed Indonesian Athena Natalia 7-6 6-2 and as a result sets up a quarter-final match against Sanders.
The Kiwi boys havn't fared so well and all hopes ride on Harry James and Artem Vassiliev who will take on the Australian pair of Daniel Guccione/Lorenzo Alforque in the doubles.
