2007 Focus Group Research

Understanding and Delivering to the Needs and Expectations of Tennis Players in New Zealand

In May 2007, Tennis NZ undertook a small focus group research which aimed to better understand the needs and aspirations of:

  • Club Members (Metropolitan and Rural Clubs)
  • Non members who play tennis at pay for play facilities
  • Non members who play casually (not at pay for play)
  • Individuals not yet engaged in tennis

In order to:

  • Develop an enhanced value proposition for club membership
  • Define the role of Tennis NZ in supporting the clubs
  • Define the opportunity for engaging and supporting non club members

This will enable Tennis NZ to become more sustainable in the long term and provide benefits to all levels of Tennis Consumers, by providing better clubs with better programmes which cater for each individual's needs

A full presentation of the results is provided below.
