Tennis Facts contains the latest facts and figures about who plays tennis according to the regions of New Zealand from the 2000/01 Sport Participation Census. Tennis Facts also looks at the extent to which players take part in organised competition, belong to clubs and are coached. It includes figures for both young people and adults. People were chosen for the survey at random to represent all the young people and adults living in each region. Not everyone selected was available for interview and some people chose not to take part. The response rate for all of New Zealand was around 65% for both surveys. The results are analysed so they are representative of all adults and young people in New Zealand. The Sport and Physical Activity Survey is a sample survey, and so the results are estimates that lie within a range, which is the margin of error, or sampling error. The Tennis facts are produced for Tennis New Zealand.
