Marina Erakovic and Michaella Krajicek are through to the final of the doubles at the Ordina Open in Krajicek's home country, the Netherlands.
This is the second WTA doubles final for Erakovic in less than a month. On 24 May, the Kiwi No.1 and her doubles partner Polona Hoercog of Slovakia, fought back from a set down to earn a spot in the US$200,000 WTA Istanbul Cup final.
Erakovic and Krajicek's route through the semifinal at Ordina was a walk-over against Romanian player Andreea Ehritt-Vanc and Tamarina Tanasugarn of Thailand, when Ehritt-Vanc was forced to withdraw due to a left shoulder injury.
Krajickec and Erakovic will now play Liga Dekmeijere of Latvia and Angelique Kerber of Germany in the doubles final, giving the crowd at least one local (and one adopted!) favourite to support.
Earlier, Krajicek, the last remaining Dutch player in the women's singles draw, lost to Tanasugarn in the quarter finals. Tanasugarn is regarded as a grass court specialist, having reached the fouth round of Wimbledon six times.
