2008 ASB Classic Finalist Aravane Rezai (France) gave youngsters at the 2009 ASB Classic a treat yesterday when she popped in to trial Grasshoppers after earlier defeating Edina Gallovits (Roumania) .
Children attending the 2009 ASB Classic on Thursday were given the opportunity to trial Grasshoppers on an outside court with other interested tennis enthusiasts. Rezai's friend also from France brought his two daughters aged seven and five to trial mini tennis - New Zealand style.
Rezai was happy to have photos taken and even posed for a photo with her own name on a shirt that someone was wearing.
Fourteen children sampled the Grasshoppers Tournament format, with some of the Kia Motors ball kids continuing their tennis experience during their break from Centre Court duties.

There were spot prizes and giveaways supplied by Sun Smart and Wilson.
The Wilson racquet was won by Anneke Price (pictured below with Waikato-Bays Regional Development Manager Leslie Wlikinson) from Kaikohe with her mum commenting that it was well worth the drive down!
