Coaches - are you registered?

11/09/2009 10:03:30 a.m.
With the end of September fast approaching there are only a couple of weeks to become a TNZ registered coach and remain on Find-a-Coach on the website. After 30 September, only registered coaches will be listed.
The Tennis New Zealand (TNZ) Coach Registration & Certification (CRC) Policy came into effect from 1 July, 2009. It is designed to recognize tennis coaching as a profession and establish ‘Registered and Certified’ Coaches in New Zealand. This policy affects all TNZ and regional staff involved in tennis coaching, in addition to affiliated club coaches and endorsed private business’s delivering tennis coaching services in New Zealand.
The goal of this policy is to introduce professional coaching standards and raise level of services delivered at all national and regional performance centers, affiliated clubs and tennis centers in New Zealand. The benefits of such will ensure all children who receive tennis coaching, do so in an environment where there is a 'professional duty of care'.
