Grades

The format of each grade is dependent on the number of teams entered. A schedule explanation can be found at the top of each drawsheet on the link at the top of this page,

Format

Four singles matches and two doubles matches. All matches are the best of one regular set. A tiebreak (first to seven points with a margin of two) should be played at six games all. Playing order is flexible, however if teams can't agree the number one and two players should play first, followed by three and four, then finally the two doubles matches.

Start Time

Teams should arrive to warm up from 3.45pm and start their first matches by 4pm. Senior interclub will start from 6pm on Albany Tennis Park and Forrest Hill courts, so it is important to start promptly. Matches at Tennis Northern facilities will be allocated two courts. I.e. Three rounds of matches. School courts will be assigned upon arrival at the venue.

Defaults

If you are unable to fulfill a fixture please contact the opposing team manager directly, as early as possible. Contact details can be found at the bottom of each drawsheet on the link at the top of this page. In the event of a default teams are given their average points for the season. This is calculated once all other results have been entered.

Rain

It is up to the schools involved to decide on whether to play a match or not in the event of rain. Catch up matches may be arranged at the discretion of schools, with Tennis Northern courts also available on Thursday's (from 4-6pm) if required. To make a booking please contact neil@tennisnorthern.co.nz. If a tie cannot be replayed before the end of the season, the points will be shared.

Tennis Balls

Each team should bring a minimum of two good condition tennis balls for each match. Tennis balls are available to order from our Albany office as follows:

  • Wilson Australian Open - $39/doz
  • Wilson Championship - $32/doz
  • Used balls for coaching - $1/ball
