On the 24 May 16 coaches from all over NZ came to Auckland to attend the Junior development course (ITF level 1). This was the strongest group of coaches to go through this course to date.  The standard of the coaches this year was outstanding with most of them currently running their own clubs and business .  The ITF Level 1 has given them further knowledge and a qualification which can be beneficial to clubs,  who could use this to promote his/her  services.   The qualification is also internationally recognized, which will aid our coaches when applying for jobs in NZ or in other countries.

I would like to thank all the coaches for attending and  up skilling their knowledge base. Derek Burden the course facilitator from Tennis Australia commented that our under pinning courses are working well as he has not seen a group like this before with such great knowledge of the game.

The attending coaches were Reilly Smith , Joel Laity , Joel Barr , Marcel Thorpe , Damair Misic , Jay Kite , Evie Ruegg , Hugo Nurse-Strang , Grant Van Dalsum , Henry Tam , Tracey O’Connor , Dave Rutherford , Kelsey Walton , Christine Reidy , Simon O’Leary , Reuben Cooper.

Tennis NZ and Tennis Australia would like to thank Jonathan Frankle from the Manukau Tennis Center.  Jonathan one of our top young coaches, provided us with the venue and the children for the on court sessions .

Proposed Courses in 2013
We propose to hold a (ITF Level 1) course in Wellington (TBC)
We are also looking to hold a Club Pro (ITF level 2) here in Auckland.
